Wordless Wednesday - Bittle Uses a Package as a Pillow

I'd wanted to have another cute rat photo for Wordless Wednesday but my photostream is not functioning properly which means the cute photo of Peter will have to be posted on a different day.

And, Bittle doesn't get as many photos on the blog as the rats anyways, so it's her turn.

Yes, she has blue eyes.

We Moved

Wow.

Moving is tiring.

We've moved to a lovely new place farther into the countryside which is just delightful.

Today is just my second day back at work, and I still feel like I am spending all of my time unpacking.

Anyways, here's Bittle enjoying her patio.  

Easter Bunny 2013

This darling rabbit stood just feet from us on Easter.  Bittle, our dog, really wanted to play chase the rabbit.  But, she absolutely loves rats, but rabbits are for hunting.  The rabbit safely hopped away before Bittle got anywhere near her.

This bed had been made this morning, but apparently it wasn't comfy enough for Bittle, so she modified it.

We Survived Hurricane Sandy

Just wanted to let my readers know that Hurricane Sandy cut our power for 6 days.  We've been just getting back to usual here.  Indeed, we restricted the rats to just one section of the Critter Nation, and we still need to open up the bottom half.  I'm sure they will really enjoy having their whole cage to play within.

I was able to keep up with Etsy and Ebay during the power outage, but I depend on my laptop for Blogger, so unfortunately, my blogging went by the wayside because my laptop's battery is shot, and it needs to be plugged in to work.  Therefore, no blogging when we had no power.

Figuring out how to blog when I lack a consistent power source is now on my to do list.

And, I have lots of blog post ideas stored up, including the final 2012 pumpkin post.

Our area had extensive damage to power lines from wind especially from trees falling on lines.  Most of the trees were old thick pine trees.  Initially, our town had 98% power loss.

This we drove under, but were blocked just a few feet farther by a tree with power lines across the road.

We believe this was the tree that kept us from getting power for 6 days.

Here's a close-up on Day 5 of Bittle demonstrating the thickness of the tree hanging on our power lines.  Bittle is 2 1/2 feet tall from the ground to the top of her head.

Bittle enjoying an MRE.  These actually were awesome.  We were able to have a warm meal at home during this stressful time, and I didn't have to break out the camp stove.  And, Bittle enjoyed licking the packets.

Bittle loves small toys. Luckily, she doesn't see the rats as toys.




I wish we'd taken video. Because here she is nibbling. She tends to nibble as long as you squeak the toy.

Introducing- Bittles

I've mentioned a lot about the rittles but who is Bittle. Bittle is our Catahoulan Leopard Dog who loves the rats. Her full name is Little Bit but we often call her, Bittle.

I guess I should get a picture of her with her head in it. That's Doctor, by the way, standing next to her. Oh, she's 65 pounds of doggy goodness.

Yes, those are Bittle's beautiful blue eyes, and one of her favorite squeaky toys. She likes them small. Having rats and dogs and letting them to play together is without a doubt risky, but it can be done depending on the dog and always with close supervision.
